Elan is the Senior Editor of The Air Current and contributor to Vertical Mag.  She is a commercially-rated helicopter pilot and FAA Gold Seal flight instructor. You can find Elan exploring the world by air, including long lining.

Stacy Sheard

Elan Head - Moderator

Stacy Sheard is an AW139 Helicopter Captain and a prominent aviation leader. Her career began as a U.S. Army pilot flying Huey and Black Hawk helicopters before transitioning to a successful commercial flying career. With over 9,000 flight hours, Stacy has experience in charter operations, air ambulance services, and film flying.

She serves on the Board of Directors and is the Past Board Chair of Vertical Aviation International (VAI), where she has significantly influenced initiatives to enhance vertical aviation. As the Government Affairs Chair of the Eastern Region Helicopter Council, she works to improve IFR infrastructure and advance Urban Air Mobility.

Stacy founded the VAI Military-to-Civilian Transition Workshop, providing vital resources for veterans entering civilian aviation. Previously, she was a production test pilot for Sikorsky, specializing in the S-76 and S-92 helicopters. She holds both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s Degree in Aeronautics from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. With her expertise and dedication to inspire others, Stacy is an inspirational figure in the aviation industry.

Kodey Bogart

Kodey Bogart

Kodey Bogart is a former United States Army warrant officer and aviator who flew the Blackhawk during medical evacuation missions. She is a decorated combat veteran who has received two Air Medals and a Sikorsky Rescue Award. Kodey has extensive experience across aviation operations, including aviation safety, flight training, maintenance test flights, helicopter air ambulance, and aviation law enforcement. Kodey lives with her husband and children in Merritt Island, Florida. She loves to share her passion for aviation, especially with her daughter and sons, by showing the diversity in the mission. The sky is not the limit!

Faith began her helicopter maintenance career as an apprentice working on a Schweitzer 300, an R22 and a Bell 47 at a local shop in St. Louis, Missouri. She did this while enrolled at Southern Illinois University Carbondale where she was taking classes to obtain a bachelor’s degree in Aviation Technologies and studying for her A&P. After she had finished her studies, Faith entered the work force and began her career wrenching on a fleet of Bell helicopters used for electronic news gathering.  From 2023 to today she has continued her journey into the HEMS industry by obtaining her IA and working as a field mechanic. Outside of her current role, Faith also maintains a retired OH-58 Kiowa and Th-67 Creek that she is also learning to fly.

Timberline helicopter

Alicia started career on a helitack crew with the Bureau of Land Management. When she’s not tracking the maintenance records for Timberline Helicopters’ fleet of Blackhawks and Kmax’s, she’s completing maintenance test flights and co-piloting construction jobs such as powerlines and building ski lifts all over the US and Canada.

Amory currently works as a field utility pilot in Alaska for a company called Pollux Aviation. She flies the R44 and R66 on remote contracts all over the state. She did her training at Leading Edge in Bend, OR, and she first fell in love with helicopters while working as a guide at a backcountry lodge in Alaska. She’s the recipient of multiple Whirly-Girls scholarships and currently serves on the Board of Directors as the VP of Marketing.

Volo Mission, situated at 590 County Road 3202, Campbell, TX, is a casual and welcoming space. Attendees are advised to dress lightly and comfortably due to the outdoor setting. The location can be reached by exiting at 104 on Interstate 30E, following the frontage road, and making a right turn onto County Road 3202. Volo Mission is about

Volo Mission, situated at 590 County Road 3202, Campbell, TX, is a casual and welcoming space. Attendees are advised to dress lightly and comfortably due to the outdoor setting. The location can be reached by exiting at 104 on Interstate 30E, following the frontage road, and making a right turn onto County Road 3202. Volo Mission is about a mile and a half down this dirt road on the RIGHT.

  • Attendees should dress in jeans/pants, casual tops, and closed-toe shoes, keeping in mind the fluctuating Texas weather. Hats and sunglasses are suggested for sunny days.
  • We will be outside all day. Participants are encouraged to bring their own sunscreen and water bottles, although refreshments will be available at the venue.
  • For those signed up to fly on May 2nd, Volo will supply a headset.
